"But then you run into her in a totally different city, on the beach, out of nowhere. What are the odds? But I guess that kind of happens with imPorts — we're easier to pick out of a crowd, we tend to run into each other while we're out and about, stuff like that."
He's definitely rambling a little now, words spilling off his tongue to try to make up for Allison's sudden brevity. Not to overplay the image, but: a loyal dog recognising the snap to its owner's voice, but not understanding the reason for it.
